Amy B. Leland

LMW, CPM, CNM, WHNP, MSN 

Amy Leland has been dedicated to advancing the field of Midwifery since 1992. A native of Washington, DC, she began her early college education in Virginia and spent several years of clinical apprenticeship under senior midwives in two Pennsylvania-Amish birth centers. As the Amish rely on their midwives for a wide range of healthcare needs, her studies in Pennsylvania included midwifery, natural women’s wellness care, neonatal care, early pediatric care, and emergency triage care.

After completing her foundational studies in traditional Amish midwifery, she went on to obtain a nursing degree at the University of South Carolina. She completed her education with dual masters degrees in Nurse Midwifery and Women’s Health at Georgetown University.

She originally founded Blessed Births as a home-birth practice in 1995 before establishing it as South Carolina’s first, freestanding birth center in 2000. After quickly outgrowing its Greenwood location, in 2004, Blessed Births relocated to its current location in downtown Greenville, South Carolina.

Amy is:

• A Nationally Registered Certified Professional Midwife

Sheila Rosa

ADMINISTRATOR / MEDICAL ASSISTANT

Sheila has been a part of our team since 2017

Sheila functions as an administrative assistant attending to the practice needs and scheduling appointments as well as a skilled phlebotomist and medical assistant.

She is a graduate of Tri-County Technical College and the Branford Hall Career Institute where she received her phlebotomy and medical assisting qualifications.

A native of Puerto Rico Sheila moved to mainland US as a child. She is fluent in Spanish, is a doula and provides placenta encapsulation services.

She is a married mother of two adult children and a grandmother to three grandchildren, one of whom was born at Blessed Births.

Lisa Brooks

REGISTERED NURSE

Lisa began her career as a Dental Hygienist. After 20 years she became a nurse, and worked in rehabilitative, hospice, and women’s health nursing with a specific focus on pediatric & adolescent gynecology, pelvic medicine & reconstructive surgery (uro-gynecology), and gynecological vulvar issues. This provided her with deep knowledge of female health issues at all stages of life, prior to joining Blessed Births.

From her experience with young children & adolescents, childbearing to peri-menopausal & post-menopausal to geriatric gynecology care, Lisa's expertise allows her to provide a high quality of skilled care to all of her patients. Maternal health has always been deeply rooted in her heart, and she reports feeling “called” to work in Midwifery.

Over the past four years as Blessed Births’ primary registered nurse practitioner, she has worked directly with hundreds of laboring women during one of the most challenging times in their lives. Lisa feels it an honor to share this time with patients, as she gently guides, supports, nurtures, and cares for each mother, family, and baby.

Lisa holds and maintains her RN license in the state of South Carolina, a Neonatal Resuscitation Certification (NRP), as well as CPR/First Aid for healthcare professionals. Lisa is also a lactation instructor and support professional.

As a “lover of nature,” Lisa enjoys outdoor activities, including hiking or biking in the mountains, kayaking, swimming, and traveling. Lisa is a mother of adult children, and also a grandmother.  She loves music and cooking dishes from around the world, often sharing her creations with friends, neighbors, and family. She lives with her dog, Toby, a wonderful companion who joins her on all of her adventures.

Jolene Bojko

BILLING ADMINISTRATOR

Jolene manages our patient accounts, billing, and insurance verification. She attended Everest College where she was granted a Medical Assistant certificate. Following graduation she began her Journey in the medical field by managing a chiropractic office in Chicago IL.

After 4 years with Hillgrove Family Chiropractic, in search of warmer weather she and her husband decided to move to the Greenville area. She continued to expand her knowledge in billing and patient accounts while working at Oaktree Medical Center for 4 years before joining our team in early 2019. She had both of her children, Jane Marie and Madelyn Grace with us at Blessed Births.

Outside of work she teaches a mommy and me fitness class. She also enjoys hiking and taking her children on as many adventures as possible.

Jessica Greene

LCCE, CD, PCD (DONA)

Jessica Greene, owner of Kooshlie Care Doula Services of Asheville NC. Serving all of WNC and upstate SC as a doula and educator. Jessica has been teaching as a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator for since 2018. She has always been passionate about teaching, educating and supporting families as they grow and develop. She is an active hands-on teacher and is great at keeping everyone engaged. Each class is tailored to the group or individual needs. Come prepared to participate and move! She is also a certified DONA birth and postpartum doula and has been working with families since 2014.

Jessica shares our passion for women in all childbirth settings. Her classes are open to everyone whether they are planning a birth center, home or hospital delivery.

Jessica lives in Asheville with her husband and two children, Naomi and Bruce.
